Bunky and Whaley first meet when Bunky’s mom is murdered by his dad when Bunky is 8 and Whaley is 25. Bunk is adopted by Whaley’s friend Badge and grows up as part of the King of Aces MC. Bunky has a lot of baggage since he saw his mom’s murder. Whaley has similar baggage from when he was a child. Their demons call to each other. When Bunky is 18 he decides Whaley will be his. 


Whaley resists at first. He’s afraid that their dark natures will be too much to handle together, not to mention the large age gap. However, Bunky is persistent and its not long before they’re hooking up. Still, even after the first couple of times Whaley rejects Bunky because he knows once he claims him, he’ll become his obsession. Bunky won’t give up on the fact that they belong together and Whaley finally gives in.


"Painful Love" is a dark obsessive romance novel between two strong-willed men filled with demons. Whaley keeps his demons carefully locked away. Bunky, however, is chaotic, constantly acting out. Once they’re officially, their love quickly becomes obsessive for both of them. The steamy scenes are frequent and super spicy. Please check the trigger warnings, as there is a lot of violence and mentions of past child abuse. I enjoyed “Painful Love” and rate it four stars.
